Public Health Nursing

Public health nursing is the practice of promoting and protecting the health of populations using knowledge from nursing, social, and public health sciences. Our nurses cover the following areas:

  • Annual Influenza Immunization Clinics
  • Childhood Lead Poisoning Program
  • kNOwLEAD: Fliers, Fact Sheets and Brochures on sources of lead and safe practices
  • Immunization Audits – Each year a public health nurse will contact all day care centers and schools. The nurse will verify that the child’s vaccinations are up to date.
  • NJ Child Care Immunization Requirements - A child, age 2 months through 59 months, must be up to date with immunization requirements to attend a child care center in the State of New Jersey. Click here for the current recommendations from New Jersey Department of Health.
