Bring a blanket and a friend for some read-aloud of stories celebrating Juneteenth with Beth Halliday, Head of Children's Services.
Envisioning Freedom: A Juneteenth Celebration- June 17, 6 PM, Virtual
Join us for this special talk about Juneteenth by assistant professor Mia White at The New School in NYC. This program will be held outdoors (weather permitting) and on Zoom.

CHS Presents Matilda

In partnership with South Orange Recreation Department, CHS presents Roald Dahl's Matilda! Join your friends and neighbors on June 10, 11, 12 and 13 at Flood's Hill at 5 PM with your blanket or low beach chair. Admission is FREE and open to the public, but donations are appreciated. "Gates" will open at 5:00pm. Seating is general admission style, first-come first served. Refreshment Stands staffed by our CHS Music Parents Association will sell individually-wrapped snacks and water. You may also bring your own picnic, but please tidy up afterwards.

Container Day

On Saturday, June 12, South Orange residents are welcome to drop off household bulk items at the Public Works facility between 8 am and 1:30 pm. Proof of residency is required and no commercial vehicles (U-Haul's/ Home Depot rental vans) are permitted on the property. Electronics, construction material, and hazardous waste will not be accepted at these events.
