1619 Project Community Discussion Group

Final Call for the SOMA Senior Survey

Residents age 60+, please share your ideas, priorities and challenges with us by taking the SOMA Senior Survey. It can be found on homepage of
SOMAtwotownsforallages.org, or you can access the survey directly by clicking here.
If you prefer, hard copies are available at the Village Offices (76 South Orange Ave, Suite 302) and the South Orange Public Library Reference Desk.

Repair Cafe

Back by popular demand, Repair Cafe is returning to Maplewood and South Orange on Saturday, November 16. SOMA Repair Cafe has drafted repair experts for sewing, jewelry, lamps and small electronics, bikes, tech devices, woodwork, carpentry, and more. So, if you have a broken, beloved item you want to fix, don’t throw it out — bring it to Morrow Memorial Church in Maplewood, on November 16, between 2 and 5 pm. And if you would like to share your repair skills or would like to volunteer to help at the event, contact Cathy Rowe at SOMAtwotowns@gmail.com or 973-558-0863.

E-Waste Recycling Event

On Saturday, November 16 from 8 am until noon, Villagers may drop electronics they wish to recycle at the DPW facility located at 300 Walton Ave. Please view the link for a list of all acceptable materials. Proof of residency will be required and no commercial vehicles will be permitted in to the facility.
