Pickup Events

Metal Pickup- On Tuesday, September 24, DPW will pickup metal recyclables for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is 6 item limit for this pickup.
Household Pickup- On Thursday, September 26, DPW will collect household bulk items with the exception of metal and electronics for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is a limit of 6 items for this pickup.

2nd Annual Kenny Graham Round-Robin Doubles Invitational

This annual tennis competition is held in honor of Kenneth Allen Graham, a dedicated lifelong resident of South Orange and a true ambassador for the game of tennis. The tournament will be on Saturday, September 28 (rain date Sept. 29) on the 'Kenny Graham Courts' in Meadowland Park. Fall Family Fest

Essex County Fall Family Festival

On Saturday, September 28 from 11 am to 4 pm, come celebrate the autumn equinox at the Environmental Center! There will be fun-filled activities for the entire family to enjoy—hands-on nature games and crafts, canoeing, Native American life, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, food, and more. FREE EVENT; some items may be for sale.

Attend a Town Meeting

Want to get more involved in your community? Attend a meeting. You will get a first-hand look at all the ins and outs of our town and it is a great way to participate and make a difference in the town. Please note that meetings are subject to change with short notice. Refer to our events calendar for up-to-date information.

  • Health & Public Safety Committee Meeting on Tuesday, September 24 at 6 pm at the Skate House
  • Community Police Collaborative (CPC) Meeting on Tuesday, September 24 at 7:30 pm at the Skate House
  • The Arts Advisory Council Meeting on Wednesday, September 25 at 7:30 pm at the Baird
  • Public Works & Utilities Committee Meeting on Thursday, September 26 at 9 am at the municipal office
