Meet the Keepers at TBZ

You and your family are cordially invited to attend a free members only event to MEET THE KEEPERS! This private event will be held after hours from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, June 21 at Turtle Back Zoo.
At this event, you will have the opportunity to learn about animal care directly from the esteemed zookeepers! You will discover how accredited zoos support conservation of species for future generations, and you will learn how you can help. To add to your enjoyment, the Savanna Café will offer a 15% discount on all food and beverage

House Music Festival

On Saturday, June 22, Essex County and The African American Caribbean Cultural Organization Of Essex County are hosting the 9th Annual Weequahic Park House Music Festival. This is a free and family-friendly event starting at noon. There will be performances by DJ Mix Mash, Charles Dixon, Adeva, and many more!

Disposal Events

Metal Pickup- On Tuesday, June 18, DPW will pickup metal recyclables for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is a 6 item maximum for this pickup.  

Bulk Pickup- On Thursday, June 20, DPW will collect household bulk items with the exception of metal and electronics for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is a 6 item limit for this pickup.

Container Day- On Saturday, June 22, South Orange residents are welcome to drop off household bulk items at the Public Works facility (300 Walton Ave). Proof of residency is required and no commercial vehicles (U-Haul's/ Home Depot rental vans) are permitted on the property. Electronics, construction material, and hazardous waste will not be accepted at these events.
