Demographics Report Presentation

Join the CCR for a presentation of the report on Tuesday, June 11th, 7:30 pm, at South Orange Public Library. The Monitoring & Evaluation Committee of the Community Coalition on Race looked at demographic trends in our towns to address some growing concerns about school and neighborhood. The 2019 updated report offers an expanded look at the schools, an overview of school integration history, affordable housing, plus income and integration comparisons to some comparable NJ suburbs. Two Towns Triathlon

The 6th annual Two Towns Triathlon will be held in and around Meadowland Park on Saturday, June 15, 2019 beginning at 8:00 am. Participants will swim laps in the South Orange Pool, bike through Meadowland Park and the West Montrose Neighborhood, finishing the race running around the duck pond in Meadowland Park. Entrants MUST be residents of South Orange or Maplewood between the ages of 7 and 14 (as of June 15). Registration for this event may be done online HERE or in person at the Baird. The registration fee is $30.

Pride Under the Stars

North Jersey Pride is taking over all of Sloan Street in South Orange on Saturday, June 15 at 8 pm for an off the hook dance party under the stars! DJ, wine, beer, specialty drinks! This is a free event for everyone age 21 and older with ID. Donations are appreciated and equate to the following:
• Donate $20 and receive 1 complimentary drink + 5 raffle tix
• Donate $50 and receive 2 complimentary drinks + 20 raffle tix + 1 North Jersey Pride Tee (while supplies last, first donated, first served!)

Shredding Day

Safe Shredding will provide document shredding service to the residents of South Orange on Saturday, June 15 from 8 am until noon. Proof of residency is required to participate in this event. Commercial volume of documentation will not be accepted. If you have any questions, you can contact the Public Works Department at 973-378-7741 x1.

Want to get more involved in your community? Attend a meeting.
