Strange Attractors Exhibit

The show is an offshoot of the virtual symposium, “Strange Attractors,” which Roniger organized in 2017 in collaboration with New York’s C.U.E. Art Foundation. The exhibition features a variety of artists and scientists making art informed by scientific principles. Strange Attractors builds upon the questions and concepts stemming from the symposium on the current state of relations between art and science, and the growing trend towards collaboration between practitioners of these disciplines. The exhibit will run from Jan 14 to Mar 8. All are welcome to attend the opening reception on Friday, January 25, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Deer Management Program

Essex County has released the plans for the 2019 Essex County Deer Management Program in South Mountain and Hilltop reservations. This is the 12th year of the program, which is geared toward revitalizing the forest ecology by reducing the number of deer. The program will be held in South Mountain Reservation on Tuesdays, Jan. 15, 22 and 29, and Feb. 5, 19 and 26, with a makeup day on Tuesday, March 5, if any previous dates are canceled. To maximize safety, South Mountain Reservation, Hilltop Reservation and all parking areas and walking paths inside the two reservations will be closed to the public on the days the program is held in that specific reservation.
