Fall Cleanup

Leaf Season will commence on Oct 22 and continue through Dec 5. Residents must use the South Orange Leaf Map located at southorange.org under SO Community Map, selecting Leaf Map from the left column. Please follow the map to determine when it is appropriate to rake leaves out at your address.  Zones are authorized to rake leaves out when they are shown in green on the Leaf Map, when they are red in color, do not rake out until the zone reflects green again. Please view all regulations regarding Leaf Season on our Seasonal Information page.

Residents on County Roadways must contact Essex County for their leaf pickup schedule at (973) 239-3366.

 

Twelfth Night or What You Will

Join the Seton Hall Theatre Program for its first production of the season, Shakespeare's Twelfth Night or What You Will. The classic comedy of mistaken identity. Viola and her brother Sebastian are separated by a shipwreck. Lost in the country of Illyria, Viola becomes the man, Cesario, to protect herself and falls in love with a Duke while forced to woo a countess. Showings are Thursday, Oct 25 and Friday, Oct 26 at 8 p.m; and Sunday, Oct 28 at 2 p.m. at SOPAC. Tickets are $5.

Gardens Aglow

Essex County invites you to Gardens Aglow on Friday, Oct 26, 6-9 PM with a rain date of Sat the 27 at Essex County Presby Memorial Gardens located at 474 Upper Mountain Avenue, Upper Montclair. At this event, you can view the gardens at dusk as they come to life with artfully carved jack-o-lanterns supplied by local high school art departments. Enjoy a glass of cider at sunset while watching the gardens glow! Activities, entertainment, a mad science show, and refreshments will be on-going throughout the event.

 

Essex County Used Tire Recycle

Saturday, Oct 27 from 9 AM to 1 PM, Essex County Public Works is holding a used tire recycling event located at 99 West Bradford Ave in Cedar Grove. Old tires with or without rims will be collected. Tire rims will be recycled as scrap metal.


This event is free to all Essex County residents with proof of residency. For more information call the Essex County Department of Public Works at 973-226-8500, Ext. 2580.
