AAPI Heritage Celebration 2024

AAPI Heritage Celebration

Come together on Saturday, May 11 from 4-7 PM at the Baird to celebrate the vibrant cultures and rich heritage of the AAPI community! 
Join us for an AAPI Potluck where you can share a dish (store-bought or homemade), belt your heart out with karaoke, make your own Bubble Tea, get a Henna tattoo, enjoy performances and more!

Conversation on Race with CCR

Dr. Kelly Harris, sr. staff director at University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Africana Studies, will explore the threats of disinformation and its historical roots in perpetuating racial stereotypes and dismantling progress in equity and inclusion. 
Join us on May 14, 7 PM at Congregation Beth El for Conversations on Race: Disinformation & the Fight for Racial Equity to gain understanding and to develop collective action steps against the harmful effects of intentionally misleading, racially charged propaganda at this critical moment in public affairs. Pre-registration is required.

Late Night Voter Registration

The Village Clerk’s Office will be having a Late Night Voter Registration Drive on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 4:30 pm-9:00 pm. Please read the article for more information on registering. If you have any questions, please call the Clerk's office at 973-378-7715 x1.

Public Works Events
Household Bulk Pickup: Thursday, May 16
DPW will collect household bulk items with the exception of metal and electronics for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is 6 item limit for this pickup. Bulk Pickup Form
Container Day: Saturday, May 18, 8 AM; 300 Walton Ave
South Orange residents are welcome to drop off household bulk items at the Public Works facility between 8 AM and 1:30 PM. Proof of residency is required and no commercial vehicles (U-Haul's/ Home Depot rental vans) are permitted on the property. Electronics, construction material, and hazardous waste will not be accepted at these events.
