AAPI Events

Virtual Cooking Demo- May 26; 5 PM
Join renowned San Francisco-based Executive Chef, Carl Foronda, as he provides a virtual cooking demonstration of Southeast Asian cuisine. A graduate of the California Culinary Academy, Foronda was the first to create a Filipino tasting menu at 1760. For info on how to join, please visit the SHU event page.
Family Night at the Pool- May 28; 5 PM
South Orange Village President Sheena Collum and Maplewood Mayor Frank McGehee invite you to celebrate the Asian American Pacific Islander Communities of South Orange and Maplewood with a Pool Party! Enjoy delicious food from local restaurants or bring your own. Music generously provided by DJ Manoj Thakrar and children's story hour led by the talented Manman Huang. Advance Registration required.

DPW Events

Shredded Wood/Hummus Delivery- On Tuesday, May 25, residents who have prescheduled will receive a delivery of either shredded wood or humus .

You can schedule a delivery via our online form or by calling the Department of Public Works at 973-378-7741. Limit one product per delivery per month. Deliveries cost $50 per drop off. Please visit southorange.org for additional information.
Metal Pickup- On Tuesday, May 25, DPW will pickup metal recyclables for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is 6 item limit for this pickup.
Household Bulk Pickup- On Thursday, May 27, DPW will collect household bulk items with the exception of metal and electronics for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is 6 item limit for this pickup.
