Municipal Election

The next election is the Municipal Election on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. The last day to register to vote in this year’s Municipal Election is Tuesday, April 20, 2021 and the last day to apply for a Vote by Mail Ballot for this year’s municipal election is Tuesday, May 4, 2021. The May 11, 2021 Municipal Election will be an in-person election. If you are unsure of your voting district, please contact the Clerk’s office. For voters who have requested and received their Vote by Mail Ballots, the Safe and Secured Essex County Election Ballot Drop Box will be located in the Gazebo across from the South Orange Fire Station (56 Sloan St.).

Repair Cafe: May 1, 1-4 PM
SOMA Two Towns for All Ages and the Senior Advisory Committees are pleased to hold an outdoor Repair Cafe. You MUST register in advance. Call (973) 558-0863 or email SOMA2towns@gmail.com with your name and brief description of what you need fixed.
Free Tech Programs for Seniors: April 19- April 30
Seton Hall University students and SOMA Two Towns will be holding free technology programs for older adults and seniors. Topics like online shopping, downloading apps, technology help line, and music conversations are just some of the programs. More more info, please visit:

SOMA Grieving & Loss Support Group- Thursdays at 4 PM. Join the conversation to find a warm and accepting community to connect with. Group meetings are held on Thursdays at 4 PM. Public Works Events

Metal Pickup- On Tuesday, April 20, DPW will pickup metal recyclables for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is 6 item limit for this pickup.
Household Bulk Pickup- On Thursday, April 22, DPW will collect household bulk items with the exception of metal and electronics for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is a limit of 6 items for this pickup.
