South Orange Fire Department COVID-19 Information and Recommendations

The South Orange Fire Department encourages all residents and visitors to practice the following methods to help prevent the spread of the latest coronavirus.

• Wash your hands early and often, with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds. Foaming anti-bacterial soap is effective in this regard.
• Maintain a distance of 6 feet between anyone you interact with. 
•  Disinfect common "touch objects" daily, if not more often. Door knobs, refrigerator, oven, micro-wave handles, faucet handles, toilet flush handles, keyboards, telephones, light switches and anything someone touches are items to be disinfected. Avoid introducing any actual liquid disinfectant into any electrical or electronic device to avoid unnecessary damage. 
• Cover your nose and mouth if you need to cough or sneeze. 
• Do your best to stay at home and if you need to go out for any reason that is absolutely necessary, use great judgement when you do.
