- PSE&G is closely monitoring weather conditions today and has all available personnel and supplies on hand to ensure that any storm-related emergencies are handled safely and promptly.
- Strong winds can increase the possibility of downed wires and associated power outages. Customers are advised to stay away from all downed power lines. - Customers are asked to report downed wires immediately. Please call 1-800-436-7734 to report the street location as well as the nearest cross street.

In anticipation of possible power outages, PSE&G offers the following storm tips:
- Keep on-hand a working battery-operated radio or TV, flashlights for everyone in the family and a supply of fresh batteries.
- If you or a family member relies on electricity for life-sustaining equipment, you should make alternate arrangements in the event of electric service interruption.
- Put refrigerator and freezer at coldest settings now. Keep a blanket handy to throw over these appliances for added insulation. If electricity is interrupted, keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed. Food will stay frozen between 36 and 48 hours in a fully-loaded freezer (24 hours in a half-full freezer) if the door is kept closed.
- Know how to open and shut your garage door without the electric opener. Have a hand-operated can opener handy. Remember, electric sump pumps will not operate.
- Remember that cordless phones do not operate if the power is out. It's a good idea to charge your cell phone.
The Village encourages all residents to observe caution during any extreme weather situations and to contact 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.
