The Health Division certifies the copies of marriage, birth
and death certificates occurring in South Orange.
To obtain copies of these certifications, please contact the Registrar's
office.
Health education to promote positive health behaviors and
lifestyles and to sensitize the community to health issues is an
important goal of the Health Department. A Health Educator is available
to community organizations to speak on a variety of topics, such
as women's health issues, lead poisoning, AIDS, rabies, safety,
health department functions, etc. The Health Educator also acts
as a resource person to the community on health related issues and
services.

Chronic Illness & Adult Health
Senior Screening Clinic
Screening of client by Public Health Nurse: blood pressure, nutritional
consultations, high risk evaluation.
Flu immunizations given annually.
Disease
Control
Home visits for follow up education on reported communicable diseases
by Public Health Nurse.
Conduct a free rabies program annually.
Supervise an animal control program year round.
Licensing: food establishments, mobile lunch trucks, ice cream trucks,
vending machines, dogs, cats, milk.
