Composter Sale
Scroll down to see how you can get one.On Saturday, November 15, 2008, Jotham Bailey, a member of our Environmental Commission, stood outside, next to the Gazebo on Sloan Street, in front of the train station to lend his expertise on the care and feeding of the Earth Machine. He did not let the inclement weather stay him from the swift completion of his appointed rounds.
The sale was a big success, despite the rain most of the morning. 66 units were sold (or picked up from previous reservations).
Composting curiosity seekers came to learn how to compost their yards and garden clippings, kitchen scraps and more. There were composting demos and professionals on hand to answer questions.
Composting bins are available, wholesale priced at only $50 — while supplies last!
Earth Machines are currently available at the DPW on Walton Ave. To reserve one or more, just E-Mail Fay Cappaze (fcappaze@southorange.org) at the South Orange Department of Public Works (DPW), and arrange a time on a Tuesday or Thursday that is convenient for you and the DPW. Go to the DPW garage at 300 Walton Avenue in South Orange with your paid receipt (if you have prepaid at the sale event) and pick up your bin and accessories as ordered.
