SHU Fall Marketing Project 2019

Over the course of the Fall 2019 Semester, members of the Citizen Engagement and Strategic Planning Committee for the Township of South Orange Village and the South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA) partnered with Seton Hall University’s Marketing Research program to answer how we can better improve the relationship between the town and Seton Hall University. The Marketing Research Program is run by the Stillman School of Business in an effort to give students real-life experience in market research.

The two (2) issues that we wanted to resolve were:

Student Experience: How can South Orange be more of a college town?

Town Experience: What can Seton Hall University and its student body implement to get residents to perceive South Orange as a college town?

The Student Marketing team had several deliverables which included a focus group, survey, and recommendations on the best way to move forward.

The Township of South Orange Village and the South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA) reviewed the recommendations and came up with several changes we wanted to implement.  If you would like to submit other recommendations, please reach out to the Citizen's Engagement & Strategic Partnership committee.
