Trustee Davis Ford was elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2007. She is a professional working woman, a wife, mother and fully an engaged citizen. She is married to Rocky Ford, her high school sweetheart and is the mother of Rachel Ford. Deborah is the oldest of four children and has been a resident of South Orange since 1994.
Trustee Davis Ford was appointed Clerk of the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders on May 6, 2009, and took her Oath of Office on June 1, 2009. To the role of Clerk, she brings an impressive 20-year record of corporate experience in the field of personnel training/development and client management, having served as a Corporate Client Manager at a large pharmaceutical company and a Director of a professional services firm providing IT staffing/project management and managed services solutions. She also held the positions of Vice President of Superior Staffing Services (a woman-owned firm) and Regional Vice President of Transworld Services Group, two other prominent staffing services companies.
Trustee Davis Ford is also a member of the Newark Rotary Club (whee she served as the first female president from 1993-1994), serves on the Executive Board of North Jersey Jack and Jill, and is a past member of the Regional Business Partnership, the NJ Transit Advisory Board, the Cancer Care Advisory Board, as well as a past President of the Greater Newark Chamber Small Business Council and Past Chairperson of Partners in Education and Quality. Trustee Davis Ford is recognized as an effective and motivational team player with a consistent track record in delivering bottom-line results, improving customer satisfaction and developing strong community relationships.
